In addition to sandy beaches, water sports and nature, the M\u00e9doc<\/a> offers a rich historical heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From bunkers<\/strong> of the Atlantic Wall <\/strong>built during the Second World War, to soulac villas with their red briquettes <\/strong>and colorful woodwork<\/strong> that you won’t see anywhere else, including the traditional striped beach tents<\/strong> the colors of the ocean, or by the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Fin des Terres, UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/strong> and marks the last stop for pilgrims on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. crossing the Gironde estuary<\/strong>the M\u00e9doc has more than enough to surprise you!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>

Hiking and cycling trails near Vensac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Around Vensac, 40 km of cycle paths<\/strong> and numerous footpaths<\/strong> are available for walking and cycling. Visit the surrounding area from the campsite on these small paths and cycle tracks, all the way to the beach for the more courageous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Markets and local gastronomy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A veritable institution, the Soulac-sur-Mer market<\/strong>, 15 km from the campsite along the coast to the north, welcomes you every morning in all seasons to help you discover our regional products and local specialities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awaken your taste buds to new<\/strong> flavours<\/strong>: hazelnuts and vine shoots from the M\u00e9doc, grenier m\u00e9docain, canel\u00e9s de bordeaux, oysters, prawns, local fish… Take your pick and bring back a souvenir that will remind you of the flavour of your vacation every time you taste it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll also find our regional products at the markets in Montalivet<\/strong> (5 km) every morning in season, and Saint Vivien (10 km) every Wednesday morning throughout the year, not forgetting the Vensac night market<\/strong> in July and August.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lighthouses, ports, lakes of the M\u00e9doc Atlantique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An emblematic symbol of the M\u00e9doc, enthroned in the middle of the ocean, the Cordouan lighthouse<\/strong>, a UNESCO World Heritage<\/strong> Site in 2021, is a must-see and unique in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the seasick, there are numerous lighthouses, museums and ports to discover on the banks of the Gironde Estuary or in the forest: Grave, Saint Nicolas, Richard, Port M\u00e9doc au Verdon, Richard, Goul\u00e9e or Hourtin…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s plenty to do for fishing enthusiasts between sea, river and lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discover Lac d’Hourtin-Carcans<\/strong>,one of Europe’s largest lakes<\/strong>, and the Contaut nature reserve <\/strong>, just 20 km from the campsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
