In addition to sandy beaches, water sports and nature, the Médoc offers a rich historical heritage.

Hiking and cycling trails near Vensac

Around Vensac, 40 km of cycle paths and numerous footpaths are available for walking and cycling. Visit the surrounding area from the campsite on these small paths and cycle tracks, all the way to the beach for the more courageous.

Markets and local gastronomy

A veritable institution, the Soulac-sur-Mer market, 15 km from the campsite along the coast to the north, welcomes you every morning in all seasons to help you discover our regional products and local specialities.

Awaken your taste buds to new flavours: hazelnuts and vine shoots from the Médoc, grenier médocain, canelés de bordeaux, oysters, prawns, local fish… Take your pick and bring back a souvenir that will remind you of the flavour of your vacation every time you taste it.

You’ll also find our regional products at the markets in Montalivet (5 km) every morning in season, and Saint Vivien (10 km) every Wednesday morning throughout the year, not forgetting the Vensac night market in July and August.

Lighthouses, ports, lakes of the Médoc Atlantique

An emblematic symbol of the Médoc, enthroned in the middle of the ocean, the Cordouan lighthouse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021, is a must-see and unique in the world.

For the seasick, there are numerous lighthouses, museums and ports to discover on the banks of the Gironde Estuary or in the forest: Grave, Saint Nicolas, Richard, Port Médoc au Verdon, Richard, Goulée or Hourtin…

There’s plenty to do for fishing enthusiasts between sea, river and lake.

Discover Lac d’Hourtin-Carcans,one of Europe’s largest lakes, and the Contaut nature reserve , just 20 km from the campsite.

For night-time outings

The nightclub is 5 km from Le Tastesoule campsite, and 15 km away you can spend an evening at the Soulac Casino.
